The Pharaoh’s heart is missing
In the Egyptian mummification process, internal organs needed to be removed. The brain was thrown away for having an unknown function – but the heart, considered the organ of reasoning, should be carefully preserved.
But, it turns out that our Pharaoh’s heart has not been found. Instead, there was a scarab containing a funerary spell. This means that he probably died far from home, and by the time his body reached the undertakers, the organ was too deteriorated to preserve.
