Parthenon, Acropolis
The Acropolis of Athens is one of the most famous Parthenon in the world and a visit to Athens without visiting this temple is like visiting Louvre museum without seeing Monalisa. The construction work of this great Roman monument started around 447 BC and completed in 432 BC.
The Parthenon was built to reside a massive statue of Athena Parthenon made of ivory, silver, and gold. Regrettably, in the 5th century, the statue was looted by one of the Roman Emperors, and taken to Constantinople (now Istanbul) and later destroyed. The pantheons name is attached with the great Greek philosopher Socrates and Plato.
